Director of the White House Open Government Initiative

Dr. Noveck directs the White House Open Government Initiative at www.whitehouse.gov/open. She is on leave as a professor of law and director of the Institute for Information Law and Policy at New York Law School and McClatchy visiting professor of communication at Stanford University. Dr. Noveck taught in the areas of intellectual property, technology and first amendment law and founded the law school’s “Do Tank,” a legal and software R&D lab focused on developing technologies and policies to promote open government (dotank.nyls.edu). Dr. Noveck is the author of Wiki Government: How Technology Can Make Government Better, Democracy Stronger, and Citizens More Powerful (2009) and editor of The State of Play: Law, Games and Virtual Worlds (2006).
